In early 2022 Stroud District Council appointed a team of consultants to review the potential for improvements to Wallbridge. Initial site visits and design team workshops were carried out to understand the local context and any constraints such as the adjacent road network.
The historical significance of Wallbridge has been fully appreciated. In particular the canal and the former Stroud Brewery. As well as the strategic location as a gateway to Stroud town centre.
During this early period we consulted with local representatives and their input has helped to inform the concept masterplan.
